Sherwood

So when i first started looking for music, i was on amazon looking as "people who bought this item also bought..." Somehow i was lucky enough to find a band called SHERWOOD. Their debut album entitled Sing, but Keep Going is a piece of summer joy bundles with insightful lyrics and an indie pop sound that is hard to not sing along to. Actually, the song I'll wait for you has an a Capella section that pretty much makes it mandatory to sing along.

Recently signed by MySpace Records, Sherwood is gaining a fan base that the definitely deserve. They've toured with the likes of Relient K and Motion City Soundtrack. I've met the guys on tour, and must say they are down to earth and just plain fun to be around. You have not lived until you have seen Mikey play keys live. Along with the new label came a new record. A Different Light throws in a track from their first album, and their Summer ep. The tracks, surprisingly enough, are presented in a different light. Adding to their arsenal of catchy songs, A Different Light was no disappointment. Check out and the best in me and give up! and just lose yourself to the music.

All in all, Sherwood is a great example of feel good indie pop rock. They are an oasis of summer in this never-ending-utah-winter. Get up and dance, or sit down and sing. Whatever you are doing, listen to sherwood: A foundation for my library, and a music inspiration. Sherwood will always have a spot in my favorites of all time.

Check out their purevolume to stream some songs or head over to their new band site for all sorts of great content and their very own internet store.

if you liked sherwood, check out making april and search sherwood on last.fm

ps: check out a clip from one of their show in sacramento [the sound is scratchy...sorry!]....watch the keyboard man Mikey--on the far left--in the first song. (amazing)

Wow, I really kind of like them. They're like a mellowed down Fall Out Boy(mind you I refer to the original tones before they by some unknown force of evil came to the conclusion that they should meld themselves with the remnants of the sounds of Backstreet Boys from the 1990s and call it music)with a few vibes of the HushSound and a placid glimpse of Snow Patrol, and perhaps even a dash of the latest sounds of Dashboard Confessional. Thanks for posting this, I'm glad you did.
